Biography
Greg designs games big and small. After studying English and fiction writing at Northwestern University, Greg moved into interaction and data design, working at the financial information company LPC/Reuters. After staring at database diagrams too long he became obessessed with how information, systems and patterns create narrative and help people understand the world around them. From this psychosis, games were an obvious next step. The idea of rule sets grabbed hold of his brain and refused to let go, leading him to work on video games, alternative reality games and large-scale urban games. Greg works as game designer and producer for the independent New York developer Gamelab. He is the principal founder of the street games festival, Come Out & Play. He has also independently co-produced ARGs. He teaches about game history and theory at NYU and Parsons and is currently obsessed with modern office folk games.
