During the Spring 2007 term, ITP hosted a class called the Design Expo, in which one student team was selected to represent ITP at a conference at Microsoft's headquarters. Six universities from five countries (Brazil, India, Netherlands, Israel and the US) sent teams of students to present their design challenge solutions to the research and design groups at Microsoft in Redmond, WA in August, 2007. The Design Expo was initiated by Lili Cheng, an ITP Alumna ('93), now Director of Creative Systems at Microsoft Research.Over fourteen weeks, student teams developed prototypes exploring design challenges revolving around the topic of Health and Wellness.
