This course allows students with no prior Flash or mobile development experience to conceptualize, design and build engaging mobile applications rapidly using Flash Lite 2.0. Flash Lite is an emerging mobile application development platform that has been embraced for the low overhead, easy learning curve and quick deployment process it offers in comparison to other mobile application development platforms. The course focus is on Flash design and programming while also covering topics such as mobile application design, optimization, deployment and distribution. Students learn about both the Flash and mobile development process and gain the necessary hands-on practice through biweekly assignments as well as a final project. Students begin developing fully-functional, interactive mobile applications from the very first day.
Note: This two-point course meets every other week throughout the semester.
